LR 410, Bj. 1979 Fg.-Nr. *00256#

My latest project - a 1979 LR 410 with the legendary 406 Rotax motor. This Machine had to be made race ready during the 2006 season, because my first restoration &ndash; a LR 250 as of 1978 &ndash; needs some intense care after two seasons of Hessen-Cup, to trainings camps in Czech Republic and diverse trainings sessions.<br>The motor indeed is of brutal force and can fortunately be driven a gear higher so that my arms don not get too long. Also with suspension settings I could get a few steps on. Before, my 250cc was totally overdamped at the front (SAE 15 oil) and too hard at the rear (new White Power shocks with 27-300 springs). The 410 now has a mixture of 30% SAE 15 and 70% SAE 5 oil, at rear I have mounted new Bilstein dampers which can be perfectly tuned with three springs each.

The pictures were taken at the end of the 2006 season on my home track in Langgoens near Giessen/Frankfurt. The old problem of oil leakages where the clutch cable enters the motor did not get any better with the gear box ventilation cut off. For this project nearly all parts are of 1979, only front and rear fender might not be from this year , but still original Kramer.
